Belva Lynch Kearse

Belva Lynch Kearse, entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 24, 2022. 

She was born December 22, 1938, in Florence County, daughter of the late Willie and Lizzy Mathews Lynch.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Belton Lynch, her nephews Glenn and Ryan Lynch, and her husband of 20 years, Cecil B. Kearse. 

Belva graduated from J.C. Lynch High School.  She enjoyed playing basketball and was top scorer in some of their games.  After graduation she moved to Charleston to enroll in The School of Radiological Technology.  She graduated in 1958 and was employed at the Medical University of South Carolina for 34 years.  She was a Radiological Supervisor for 20 years during that time. 

Belva loved to cook and received many compliments on her delicious cakes and cookies she shared with family and friends. 

She was a member of the Ashley River Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class where she served as Card Chairman for years. 

Belva is survived by a cousin, Randall Powell.

A service with friends and family will be held at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. - West Ashley Chapel at 2:00pm on Friday, October 7, 2022. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  

Memorials may be made to Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy., Charleston, SC 29407.
