Beatrice Mary Jewell Beatrice Mary Jewell, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Captain Thomas A. Jewell, U.S, Navy, (Retired), entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Her Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013, in Old St. Andrew's Parish Churchyard, 2604 Ashley River Road at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Beatrice was born June 16, 1930, in Chester, SC, a daughter of Edwin M. Shaw and Beatrice Mary Danagher Shaw. She was a member of Old St. Andrew's Parish Church. Beatrice was a former member of the Navy Officers Wives Club, The Navy Women's Auxiliary, The Charleston Yacht Club Auxiliary, The Charleston Miniature Society and many other organizations throughout her life. She was a wonderful mother and an exceptional grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen McNamara Burkette (James), of Folly Beach, SC, her son, Jeffrey A Jewell (Kimberly) of James Island, SC, three granddaughters - Erin (Brandon) Anderchuk, Kelsey McNamara, Megan McNamara and two grandsons, Brendan McNamara and Jason Jewell. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to Laura Burrows of Caris Hospice who took wonderful care of our mother and the entire family.
