Barry Frederic Hollandsworth, 77, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, beloved husband of Linda Huff Hollandsworth, passed away on October 7, 2026. We will welcome guests beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, with the celebration of life to follow at 2:00 pm.

Born on January 1, 1949, in Martinsville, Virginia, Barry was the son of the late Wilfred Frederic Hollandsworth and the late Christine Ingram Hollandsworth. He grew up in Bassett, Virginia, and was a graduate of National Business College, where he met Linda and was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Phi fraternity.

Barry worked for 29 years in the insurance industry with Atlantic Mutual and Royal Insurance, and later spent 15 years as a Realtor in Fort Mill, SC, and Charlotte, NC.

He was also a proud Eagle Scout, earning the God and Country Award, and later gave back as a Boy Scout leader in Roanoke, VA, and Rocky Mount, VA. His commitment to community extended further as a member of the Fort Mill Elks Lodge #2859.

Golf was Barry’s passion, and he played as many courses as possible with family and friends. Whether traveling for a round or enjoying a local course, the game brought him joy, connection, and countless memories.

Above all, Barry cherished his family. He treasured his role as husband, father, and grandfather, and some of his happiest moments were spent watching his grandchildren grow and celebrating their achievements.

Barry is survived by his wife, Linda Hollandsworth of Mount Pleasant, SC; his children, Joshua F. Hollandsworth (Brooke) of Fort Mill, SC, and Jill Hollandsworth Roe (Rhett) of Mount Pleasant, SC; his cherished grandchildren, Skylar Hollandsworth (Andrew), Luke Roe, and Vann Roe; his brothers, Randall J. Hollandsworth (Dianne) of Bishop, GA, and Jeffrey T. Hollandsworth (Lisa) of Daleville, VA; his niece, Katie Moore (Matt); and his nephews, Jaren Hollandsworth (Hailey) and Logan Hollandsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Christine Hollandsworth.
