Barry Wayne Grayson, 73, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Charlotte Harriet Mitchum Grayson entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 8, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
Barry was born October 19, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Otis Cornelius Grayson and Letha Schurlknight Grayson. Barry was in the US Army and did most of his time in Vietnam. He retired from the Citadel. He loved to fish and shrimp and enjoyed bowling, working in the yard and cooking on his smoker.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mark London Saunders (Theresa); granddaughter, Caroline Jane Saunders; sister-in-law, Rosalind D. Grayson, SC; niece, Becky Schaffer (Douglas); two nephews, Timmy Cuzzell, Terry Cuzzell (Roxanne); late nephews wife, Kelly Schleppegrell; and great nephews: Grayson Schleppegrell and Baker Schleppegrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Vera Cuzzell, Keda Schleppegrell, Floyd Grayson, Frank Grayson, and Pat Grayson; brothers in law: Charlie Schleppegrell, Sr. and Lenard Cuzzell; and nephews: Charlie Schleppegrell and Lenny Cuzzell.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
