Barney Douglas Smith

B. Douglas "Doug" Smith, 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Christine Ann Francisco Smith, entered peacefully into eternal rest Monday, December 8, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 in First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting Street at 2:00 p.m. Entombment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc.West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Doug was born August 5, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, son of Thomas William "Bill" Smith and Lorraine Quinley Smith. He was a graduate of Mars Hill University, the owner of The Smith Company, Real Estate Appraisers and a member of First Scots Presbyterian Church. Doug was a loving husband, caring son, proud father and brother who shared life with many friends. Although he will be dearly missed, Doug enjoyed a life filled with many fond memories around those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Smith of Charleston, SC; son, Bartlett Douglas Smith and Heather Leigh Smith of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Lorraine S. Byers and Justin Byers of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, Thomas William Smith, Jr. and Jenny N. Smith of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Teresa Smith Tucker and Steven Tucker of Ladson, SC; niece, Jesse Marie Smith; grandson, Coleman Douglas Smith; and step-son, Clayton Tillman of Orlando, Fl.
