Barbara Covar Wright, 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Alan Franklin Wright passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Her Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends after the service.
Barbara was born December 28, 1928 in Augusta, Georgia, daughter of the late Robert Hendrix Covar and Gladys Ruby Mathews Covar. She received a degree in Psychology from Winthrop College. Barbara loved gardening, playing bridge, flower arranging and delving into politics. She was a long-time member of Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville, VA and was active in the Altar Guild.
Barbara was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a devoted grandmother and especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren on fun, educational trips.
She is survived by her children, Allyn Calaman and her fiance, John Sukovich, Sally Trask and her husband, Joseph, Phyllis Rogerson and her husband, Robert, and Russell Wright and his wife, Patty; her seven grandchildren, James Scott Calaman and his wife, Melissa, Benjamin M. Wright and his wife, Kelli, William M. Wright, Rebecca Trask Haynes and her husband, William, Joseph Lake Trask, Jr., Ellye H. Rogerson and Anna T. Rogerson; her two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
