Barbara Vaughan Wilson, 82, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Marion E. Wilson died Tuesday, October 22, 2013. The relatives and friends of Barbara Wilson are invited to attend her Funeral Service Thursday, October 24, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
Barbara was born on November 12, 1930 in Richmond, Virginia, daughter of the late Bernard Cecil Vaughan and the late Frances Roberson Vaughan. She was a homemaker where she loved to spend time with her family and friends and worked for several years at Susan Causey School of Dance in Charleston, S.C. Known there simply as "Miss Barbara" to a generation of dancers, her work in the office, altering costumes and making props always brought a smile to her face and those around her. Her years there were full of laughter and joy.
She is survived by her four children, Dr. M. Edward Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Mount Pleasant, SC; Carol Cook and her husband, Bill, of Mount Pleasant, SC; Doug V. Wilson and his wife, Liza, of Suwanee, GA; Jan McKinney and her husband, Barry, of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Leland Wilson, Bryson Cook, Will Cook, Laura Anne Cook, Bryan Wilson, Tina Wilson, Mark McKinney and Scott McKinney; and two sisters, Joan Hippchen of Memphis, TN and Cecil Vaughan of Hilton head, SC.
