Barbara Robertson Tanner, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 29, 2025. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth W. Tanner, Sr. Her memorial service will be held on January 17, 2026, at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Hwy. at 11:00 A.M. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc.

Barbara retired from Sears in administration after a lengthy career that began in sales. She and Kenny were active in the Islanders Shag Club and spent many weekends with their friends shagging all over the South.

Barbara was born February 6, 1939, in Walterboro, South Carolina. She is survived by her son, Bruce Tanner of Charleston, SC, her daughter, Chrisanne Porter (Wes) of Charleston, SC, and her brother Hallie Lucas (Buddy) Robertson (Lynn) of Walterboro, SC. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth W. Tanner, Jr., and her brother Robert Wayne Robertson.

Barbara’s favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandson, Matthew W Porter. She was his biggest fan in whatever sport he was playing. She also loved her dogs Maggie and Daisy.
