Barbara June Oldham Mobley, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Alvin Keith Mobley entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, December 22, 1:00 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd. The family will receive visitors at the church from 11:00 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Barbara was born February 6, 1928 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Frederick William Oldham and the late Myrtle Williamson Oldham Larisey. She was a graduate Chicora High School, attended Rice Business College, and night classes at the College of Charleston. She retired from the Department of Defense, US Navy, as an Administrative Secretary at The Citadel, The Military College of SC. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Daughters of the King, and Diocesan Women's Ministries. She was a member of "St. Peter's Saints", a musical group that entertained the elderly. She was a life member of the Garden Club of South Carolina, Inc., serving as Club President of Wando Woods Garden Club several times. She was also an Honorary Life Member of South Carolina Congress of PTA, Inc. She was an avid bridge and card player.
She is survived by her Daughters, Kerry M. Missel and Kelly M. Schleppegrell both of Charleston, SC; Grandchildren, Grayson Keith Schleppegrell and fiance Chelsey of Knoxville, TN, Baker Oldham Schleppegrell (Jessica) of Charleston, SC and Charleston Rutledge Missel and fiance Erica of Charleston, SC; Brothers-in-Law, Richard J. Brandenburger, James Mobley and Jerry Mobley; Uncle, Daniel B. Williamson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Sons-in-law Frederick G. "Fritz" Missel and Charles August "Charlie" Schleppegrell; Sisters-in Law, Kittie M. Brandenburger, Cheryl Mobley and Barbara Mobley.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Dr., Charleston, SC.
