Barbara Miller McDonald, 84, of Charleston, SC, widow of John Lewis McDonald, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 28, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Monday, November 30, 2015, in The Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting Street, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Churchyard. The family will receive friends Sunday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Barbara was born July 17, 1931 in Conway, SC, daughter of the late V. F. Miller and the late Jerry Hatchell Miller. She was a retired literature chemist for Westvaco, a 1953 graduate of Limestone College, member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a member of The Second Presbyterian Church. She was an honorary life member of the Presbyterian Women of the church. Barbara was active with the ladies at the Community Center at Sandpiper Independent Living.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Hackett (James) of Charleston, SC; son, John L. "Jay" McDonald, Jr. (Kristen) of Mount Pleasant, SC; two granddaughters, Susanne McDonald, and Mary Miller Hackett; and sister, Marilyn Miller McGonegle of Springfield, VA.
