Barbara Mousley Martin

Barbara Jean Mousley Martin, 94, of Johns Island, South Carolina, widow of Thomas Joseph Martin passed away, September 14, 2018. She is survived by her son Thomas J. Martin, and his wife Kara of Cedarburg, WI, her daughter Susan Martin Smith and her husband Charles of Jacksonville, FL, and Kimberley A. Martin Lynch of Telluride, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Connor T. Martin of NYC, Shannon A, Lynch, Michael J. Lynch, and Mary E. Lynch of Telluride, CO.

Born July 2, 1924 in Hackensack, New Jersey, to the late John L. Mousley and Antoinette B. Mousley. She graduated Skidmore College in 1946 when she went to work for Charles Scribner's Publishers. She worked with such literary greats as Hemingway, Lindbergh, and Vonnegut, to name a few. She married Thomas in August 1954 and was married for fifty-three years. She raised her family in Morristown NJ. She lived a very active life, giving back to her community. She and Thomas retired to Seabrook, SC in 1987, where they traveled the world together for the next 20 years.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Our Saviour, located at 4416 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island. Interment will immediately follow the service.

Flowers will be accepted at the Church or Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
