Barbara Cope Inglett

Barbara Cope Inglett, age 85, passed away October 14, 2023.

She was born in Marion, SC on February 21, 1938 to Rodney and Mae Cope. The family moved to Mt. Pleasant where Barbara attended 1st grade through high school. In June of 1959 she married Bob Inglett the day after he graduated from The Citadel. They celebrated their 64th anniversary this year. They were blessed with three wonderful children. The family moved many times during Bob's 28 year Army career, and Barbara always established a loving and caring home. She excelled in decorating each home on holidays and won many awards for her Christmas decorations. She was a great seamstress and made clothes for her daughters and herself.

As the children grew older, Barbara worked as a secretary, bank teller, and dental assistant. The couple retired in 1987 to Mt. Pleasant. Barbara became a realtor and enjoyed success in selling homes. In November of 2013, Barbara and Bob moved to The Palms in Mt. Pleasant and had great times and made many new friends. In May 2020 she moved to the Oaks, a memory care facility. Alzheimer's had taken over her life. She received wonderful care from the staff at The Oaks. Intrepid Hospice also provided outstanding help for Barbara.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Gloria Cope Hildebrand.

She is survived by her husband, her children Vicki Inglett, Cynthia Vinson (Jay), and Allen Inglett (Rhonda); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two extraordinary friends, Lynn Dearing and Thomasena Mitchell.

Barbara lost her memory, but did not lose the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. She went straight to Heaven and is now with Jesus. Over the years, she taught Sunday School, hosted numerous Bible studies in her home, and funded and started a class for Special Needs children so their parents could attend church.

Her's was truly a life well lived. She put others first and was "The Wind Beneath The Wings" of her husband and children.

All services will be private.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Samaritan's Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607, or online at Samaritanspurse.org.
