Barbara Blackmon Hunt

Barbara Blackmon Hunt, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 20, 2024. Her Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Barbara Blackmon Hunt, widow of Robert "Bob" Wesley Hunt passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024. She was predeceased by a daughter, Laura Marie Hunt and a son, Christopher Charles Hunt.

Barbara was born January 4th, 1934 in Charlotte, NC and spent her childhood years growing up in Charlotte, NC, Chattanooga, TN and Columbia, SC. 

She met Bob after a football game, fell in love and eloped to Clemson, SC, marrying during Homecoming Weekend. She was a lifelong Clemson Tigers fan. 

Barbara and Bob settled on James Island where they raised their children. She enjoyed playing bridge, volunteering at her children’s schools and church. Later on she made Wednesday Burger nights a special family and friends gathering with invitations highly coveted. 

Barbara is survived by her children: Barbara Ruth Hunt Ashmore (Allison), Robert "Wes" Wesley Hunt ll, Millicent "Millie" Hunt Drolet (Daniel), Libby Perry (Jay); along with eight grandchildren: Wesley (Shelby), William (Caryne), Wyatt, Chad, Jake, Truman, Daniel Jr., and Catherine; and two great-granddaughters: Ansley and Savannah.
