Barbara Eloise Paul Harrison

July 10, 1927 — October 14, 2011

Barbara Eloise Paul Harrison, 84, wife of the late James Butler Harrison, Sr.of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011. 


The relatives and friends of Barbara Harrison are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mt. Pleasant Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC, on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.


Mrs. Harrison was born on July 10, 1927 in Thompson, GA, daughter of Hennon Carroll and Louise Paul Carroll.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant and the Senior Citizens Center. 


Mrs. Harrison is survived by her six sons, James "Jimmy" Harrison, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Michael G. Harrison and his wife, Kara of Occaquan, VA,  Jerry W. Harrison and his wife, Vickie of Lancaster, SC, Ronnie  K. Harrison and his wife, Melissa of Summerville, SC, Larry B. Harrison of Mt. Pleasant, SC and David C. Harrison and his wife, Jeanne of Mt. Pleasant, SC; five daughters, Joan Craven and her husband, Steven of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Janice Petit and her husband, Richard Petit, Sr. of Huger, SC, Cindy Ackerman and her husband, Rev. Wayne Ackerman, Sr. of Adams Run, SC, Gail Daley of Columbia, SC, Debbie Wiggins and her husband, Kenny of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Lynda Hornsby and her husband, Eddie of Easley, SC; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her brother-in-law, Leonard Harrison of Augusta, GA.  She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Harrison; daughter, Brenda Harrison; grandson, James B. Harrison, III; sister, Anne Vogleswaane, and a granddaughter, Sherry Craven.  She is also survived by her cat, Charlie Pride. 


The family would like to thank Ann, Trudy, and the entire caring team at Amedisys Hospice for all they did for Barbara.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Amedisys Hospice Care, 1027 Physicians Drive, Suite 240, Charleston, SC 29414.
