Barbara Chaplin Glenn

Barbara C. Glenn, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011.  She was born on September 19, 1932 in Ravenel, SC, daughter of the late Robert P. Chaplin and Harriet Gertrude Coney.  She was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church of Ravenel.

A devoted sister, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and yard work.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, always supporting their academic, athletic and life pursuits.  All who knew her will remember her wonderful sense of humor and her dedication to family and friends.  Forever true to herself and others, she had an unwavering faith and tremendous spirit even in difficult times.  Throughout her illness, she became an inspiration to everyone she met and knew.

Mrs. Glenn is survived by three children, David L. Glenn of Charleston, SC, Donald E. "Butch" Glenn and his wife, Susan of Loveland, OH, and Robyn G. Aselage and her husband, Gregg of Mount Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren, Christopher Glenn, Lane Glenn, Tyler Glenn, Allie Glenn and Madison Aselage; one sister, Ernestine Baldwin of James Island, SC; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased in death by her husband, Truman D. Glenn and her son, Truman D. "Bucky" Glenn, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 12:00 pm in Memorial Baptist Church, Ravenel, SC.  Burial will follow at Ravenel United Methodist Churchyard, Baptist Section.  The family will receive visitors on Wednesday at  J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC between six and eight o'clock.
