Barbara "Granny" Crump

Barbara "Granny" Crump, 84, of Summerville, SC, died Thursday, November 12, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Monday, November 16, 2015 in the Bethany United Methodist Church Spell Chapel, 118 w. 3rd Street South at 2:00 pm. Interment, Summerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Bethany United Methodist Church Spell Chapel. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Barbara was born October 11, 1931 in Dorchester County, SC, daughter of the late Timothy Dukes Ackerman and the late Allie Mae Hargrove Austin and GR Austin, Jr. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Sue Knight Sunday School Class, Brooks-Swicegood Circle and a faithful volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Summerville for over 20 years. She cared about her family, friends and strangers.

She is survived by her husband of 61 and 1/2 years, John A. Crump, Jr.; daughter, Janet E. Crain (Tom); daughter-in-law, Debra Bourgeois; four grandchildren, Robert A. Crump, Jr., Colleen M. Engbrock (Dennis, Jr.), Patrick J. Crump, Mandy E. Rogers (Gene) all of Summerville, SC; step-grandchildren: Richie, Kimberly, Melissa, Vicki; great-grandchildren: Caroline, Alex, Taylor, John, Peyton, Sophia, Kennison and Jacob; nine step-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Dixon, Summerville, SC; additional extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert "Bobby" Crump, Sr., and step-grandson, Chris.
