Barbara Altman Buss

Barbara Altman Buss, 87, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late John Franklin Buss died Thursday, December 27, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Monday, December 31, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.

Born April 29, 1931 in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Leon H. Altman and the late Effie Canaday Altman. Barbara was a longtime member of Hibben United Methodist Church. She was recognized for her many years as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was a talented artisan and donated her cross stitch to help the church and organizations' fundraising.

She is survived by daughter, Effie Cameron (Billy) of Mount Pleasant, SC; two sons, John Franklin Buss, Jr. (Sandy) of Belleville, IL and Leon A. Buss (Amy) of Cambridge City, IN; step-daughter, Sandra Morgan of Louisville, KY; two sisters, Shirley Hendrix of Mount Pleasant, SC and Mary Ann McDonald of North Charleston, SC; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
