Barbara M. Avant, 80, of North Charleston, SC, wife of the late Raymond Avant, died Friday, April 10, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to service in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Barbara was born July 4, 1934 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late John Richard Morris and the late Bernice Nell Radney Morris. She was a retired sales associate. She was a member of American Legion Post 112 and the V.F.W. Ladies auxiliary Post 3142.

She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Usher of North Charleston; two sons, Christopher (Rena) Avant of Charleston and David Avant of Charleston; two sisters, Elaine Knight and Edna Walden both of Monroe, NC; eight grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.
