Augusta Ervin Nadol

Augusta Ervin Nadol, 61, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Richard A. Nadol died peacefully Tuesday, November 13, 2012 surrounded by family and friends. Her funeral service will he held Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Old St. Andrew's Parish Episcopal Church, 2604 Ashley River Road, at 12:00 pm. Inurnment is in the churchyard behind the church. The family will receive relatives and friends in the church social hall, Gilchrist Hall, following the service. Arrangements are by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. Augusta was born November 9, 1951 in Sumter, South Carolina, daughter of Edward S. Ervin, III and the late Irene Yates Ervin. She attended Winthrop College and later worked in Accounts Payable at the Medical University as well as the Student Loans Program at the University of South Carolina. She was an active member of Old St. Andrew's involved in teaching Sunday School for 10 years, numerous church committees, Daughters of the King Chapter, Alpha programs, and the Cursillo movement. She dearly loved her job as a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital in the OR waiting room. In her later years, Augusta drove elderly ladies to various appointments as well as helped with their errands. Miss Augusta started the Junior Daughters of the King(JDOK) at Old St. Andrew's as well as set up other JDOK programs throughout South Carolina. She also held JDOK directress positions within the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina and the southern Diocesan region of the United States. Augusta always made people feel welcome wherever she was. Her positive attitude and friendly ways made people feel at ease. She will be greatly missed because she touched so many people. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Nadol of Charleston; daughter Lauren N. Pippin (Andy) and grandson Tyler A. Pippin of Charleston; her father, Edward S. Ervin, III of Sumter, SC; brother, Edward S. Ervin, IV of Sumter, SC. Memorials may be made to Old St. Andrew's Parish Episcopal Church Restoration Fund, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston. SC 29414.
