Audrey Ann Watts Brown, 76, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed Sunday, February 3, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Inurnment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Brown was born September 9, 1936 in Ellamore, West Virginia, daughter of the late Carson and Evelyn Hinkle Watts . She was a graduate of Walterboro High School, MUSC Nursing School, and then The College of Charleston. She graduated as a Registered Nurse and served at Fenwick Hall and then retired from The Charleston County Hospital. She was a long-time volunteer with the Charleston Museum and was a proud member of The Daughters of The American Revolution, as well as The Scottish Society of Charleston, Clans Rose and Forbes.
She is survived by her daughters, Karin Shaffer and her husband, W. Lang III of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Linda Kacala and her husband, John of Charleston, SC, Rosemary Harker and her husband, Chris of Virginia Beach, VA, and Gretchen Aurin and her husband, Dirk of Berwyn Heights, MD; her grandchildren, Cassidy Shaffer, Walter Shaffer, IV, McGuire Shaffer all of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Melissa (Kacala) Diamond and her daughter, Avea and Jonathan Kacala all of Charleston, SC, Frank Harker and Patrick Harker both of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by her former husband, F. M. "Mickey" Brown and his sons, Angus Brown and Taylor Brown and his son, Jaxson all of Charleston, SC.
