Ashley Elizabeth Miller, age 27, of Washington, DC, tragically died in a car accident in Argentina, Saturday, April 16, 2016. Ashley had been traveling in Argentina with the love of her life, Matthew Cook. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Bethany United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. with burial following in Dorchester Memory Gardens. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. Born October 14, 1988, in Virginia Beach, VA, Ashley was a remarkably beautiful person both inside and out. Her passion had always been helping others.
After graduating from the University of South Carolina, Ashley spent a year as a full-time volunteer at City Year in Washington, DC. A strong advocate for the homeless, she worked as an accountant at the Women's Shelter N Street Village, also in Washington DC. Her passion for learning led her to complete her Masters in Public Policy at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. She then went on to serve as a policy analyst at the White House's Office of Management & Budget, where she continued to try to make the world a better place.
Ashley enjoyed traveling and experiencing cultures from around the world. She recently visited Ireland and Scotland with her mother, where they shared many wonderful memories.
Ashley is survived by her parents, Susan and Jim Woolsey of Edgewater, MD; Jim Miller of Virginia Beach; her brother, Ryan Miller, of Summerville, SC; and her boyfriend, Matthew Cook.
