Ashley Briggs, 77, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Beth Ellen Dalton Briggs entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 26, 2019 after a hard fought battle with Leukemia. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 in the Saint Peter's Church, 1307 Porchers Bluff Rd., Mt. Pleasant, SC at 11:00 am with reception to follow at the church. Interment will be at a later date in Beaufort National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Ashley was born September 16, 1942 in Washington, District of Columbia, son of the late Ashley Briggs and Frances Pittiglio Briggs. He was an active member of Saint Peter's Church where he ran the Men's Bible Study. A graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1964, and an U.S. Army Veteran. Ashley taught physics at Virginia Military Institute and taught.radar defense for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War at Fort Bliss. He was a Software Consultant, an active bridge player and he loved to garden.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Beth Ellen Briggs of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, Brett Alexander Briggs and wife, Jessica Noel of Hadley, MA, Thomas Ashley Briggs of St. Louis, MO and David Ashley Briggs of Oakland, CA; daughter, Valerie Briggs Walters of Soquel, CA; 6 grandchildren; his mother, Frances Pittiglio of Newport News, VA; brother, Robert Briggs of Newport News, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Peter's Church - Mount Pleasant, 1307 Porchers Bluff Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
