Reverend Arthur Jacob Stark, 86, of Charleston, SC, husband of Marian Lee Stark, died Saturday, August 23, 2014. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 2:00 pm.

Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel Tuesday one hour prior to the service.Rev. Stark was born August 13, 1928 in Chatham, New York, son of the late Paul Valentine Stark and the late Helen Young Stark. He was a retired Baptist Minister and a current member of Carolina Bay Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by three sons: Paul L. Stark (Marilyn) of Charleston, Arthur J. Stark, Jr. (Karen) of Gloucester, VA and John M. Stark (Courtney) of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter, L. Jean Skogland (Marc) of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Ruth S. Andersen of Connecticut and Joan S. Herrman of New York; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
