Arthur Ruben Jackson, 86, of North Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Martha Christine Prince Jackson, died Saturday, September 24, 2016. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 4990 Dorchester Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Arthur was born June 12, 1930 in Dillon, South Carolina, son of the late Willie Jackson and the late Annie Price Jackson. He worked for Krispy Kreme for nearly 20 years. He retired as a dispatcher from McAlister Towing. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and Heritage Holiness Church. He loved YahYahs, fishing, gardening, and was well-known for his nine-layer chocolate cakes. He loved to make people laugh and he adored his family and everyone else.
He is survived by two daughters: Kira Watkins (Sonny) of Summerville and Vicki Keller (Russell) of North Charleston; four grandchildren: Michael Watkins (Kathy) of Barnwell, Jason Watkins (Molly) of Givhans, Rusty Keller (Melody) of Cottageville, Jonathan Keller (Tiffany) of Moncks Corner; seven great-grandchildren: Lauryn, Kaitlyn, Drayton, Dalton, Harley, Ella Kate, Anna Lee, and Avery (on the way); four sisters: Dora Jackson, Elizabeth Prince, Marie Walters, Irene Shrader.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Christine Prince Jackson; grandson, Lee Jackson Keller: three brothers: Gary Jackson, Robert Jackson, Carl Jackson; two sisters: Annie Lou Jackson and Carolyn Hinson.
