Arthur Neal Plunkett, 81, of Lexington, South Carolina, husband of the late Jo Ann Rankin Plunkett, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 22, 2026.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville, South Carolina.

Arthur was born on October 1, 1944, in Atlanta, Texas, a son of the late Homer Plunkett and Vera Lee Arnold Plunkett. He retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after a distinguished military career. Arthur enjoyed golfing, spending time with his family, Dallas Cowboys and watching the South Carolina Women’s Basketball Team play Above all else, he cherished the moments he shared with those he loved.

He is survived by his children, Karen Norman (James) of Lexington, South Carolina, and Christopher Brian Plunkett of Lexington, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Hannah Parrish Norman, James “Trey” David Norman III, and Harper Grace Norman; and his siblings, James Howard Plunkett (Pat) of Texas and Robert Wayne Plunkett (Jan) of Texas, Paula Arnold Cook and Linda Gale Plunkett.

In addition to his wife, Jo Ann Rankin Plunkett, he was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Plunkett and Vera Lee Arnold Plunkett.
