Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of June 7, 2012, Arthur Chubb, 88, widower of Marie Goff Chubb, residence Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of the former are invited to attend his graveside service Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J.HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
Mr. Chubb was born September 3, 1923 in St. George, South Carolina. He served in the Army Air Corp, was a WW II veteran, and earned three Bronze Service Stars. Mr. Chubb was a Mason and was a 65 year member of the Steamfitter Union Local 420 of Philadelphia, PA. Arthur was also a lifetime member of the Kershaw Lodge #29 in Camden, SC, American Legion Post # 0081 in Gonzalize, LA, VFW Post # 8801 in Clayton, DE, and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Philadelphia, PA. He attended Murray Vocational School.
Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Busch of James Island; several nephews, Woody Busch of Summerville, SC, Larry Busch of James Island, SC, James Oberg of Asheville, NC, and Steve Oberg, Arthur Oberg, Carl Oberg of Charleston, SC; and several nieces, Christina Warren of Griffin, GA, Marilyn Chubb of Moncks Corner, Edna McCloud of NC, Joan Allen of Johns Island and Shirley Grizzassi of Texas.
