Arlie Ray Tennant Sr, of Cassville, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019. Born August 20, 1937 in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Ellis James Tennant and Eva Ellen Varner. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Eleanor Margaret Tennant on February 23, 2019.

Arlie served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was retired from West Virginia University. He enjoyed playing solitaire and spending time with his family.

He is survived by four sisters Esther Fay and Mary Olive of Columbus Ohio, Norma Jean of Core West Virginia and Mable Roseann Smith and husband Willie, of Morgantown West Virginia; two sons Arlie Tennant Jr and wife, Sandra of Goose Creek, SC James Tennant of Fairmont West Virginia and two grandchildren Joseph and Jenna and one sister in-law Barbra Ellen Tennant of Cassville, West Virginia. He was also preceded in death by five brothers William, Melvin, Charles, Frankie and Marvin Tennant and four sisters Bertha, Lillian, Nancy, and Carolyn.

Memorial services will be private.
