Antonina "Lee, Lena" Lazzara Nicolosi, 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Sebastian Andrew Nicolosi, died Sunday, August 21, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery Friday Afternoon. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 9:00 until time of the service.

Antonina was born March 7, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Francesco Lazzara and the late Gaetana LaSala. She was married to her husband, Sebastian, for 69 years. The family would like to thank Dr. Leigh Spicer for her compassion and care; Josie, Rowena and Cynthia for their love and tireless dedication, and the women in her building who were so loving and giving. She loved celebrations, Christmas, food, playing cards, sunbathing, shopping, traveling and most of all her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a loving and devoted mother to surviving daughters, Barbara Jenner (Walter) of Charleston, SC and Joan Franzese (Ralph) of West Hempstead, NY; son, Kenneth Nicolosi (Diane) of Williamstown, NJ; sister, Catherine Tulka (Richard) of Garden City, NY; She will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild and other family members.

Her family will think of her not as gone but on a journey that has just begun.
