Annis Ione Sims Beach, lovingly known as "Nannie", 85, wife of Jerrold Watson Beach, resident of Franke at Seaside, former resident of 12 Lyttleton Avenue, Charleston, SC, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011.  The relatives and friends of Annis Beach are invited to attend her Memorial Service in Bethel United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m.    Visitation will be held one hour prior in the Fellowship Hall.  ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL.  


Annis was born on October 29, 1925 in Liberty, SC, the daughter of Reverend Dr. Charles Furman Sims and Annis Hope Sims.  She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Columbia College.  A longtime member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, she  served as an assistant to the pastor from 1967-1975 and was a past president of the Women's Society. Her joy in life was her church, her family and her caring love for children. 


She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jerrold W. Beach of Charleston, SC; son, Jerrold Beach, Jr., of Wadmalaw Island, SC; daughter, Ruth B. Mills and her husband, Cecil of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson, Matthew Beach and his wife, Abbey Beach of CO; granddaughter, Jennifer Parson and her husband, Thomas Parson, Jr., of Hanahan, SC; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Caitlyn, Cassidy and Arbor; brother, Charles Sims of Greenville, SC and former daughter-in-law, Catherine Davies and her husband, Andrew of Daniel Island, SC.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Hope McCleskey, Martha Carpenter and Sara Sims.


 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt St., Charleston, SC 29401.
