Annie Margaret Poulnot Tovey, 92, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Henry Charlton Tovey, entered into eternal rest April 13, 2013. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL at 1:00 pm. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.
Annie was born October 1, 1920 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, daughter of the late John Owen Poulnot and Wilhelmina Thiele Poulnot. She was a retired accounting clerk with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, member of St. John's Lutheran Church, member of the Diamonds in The Pluff Red Hats, Ashley River Bowling League, American Business Women's Association and a past member of The Metropolitan Civitans.
She is survived by her three daughters: Helen T. Metts (Gene) of North Charleston, Mary T. Eason (Donald) of North Charleston and Frances T. Butler (Glenn) of Johns Island; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Tovey Rucker Archer, two sisters and one brother.
