Annie Steenken Shier, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Robert Francis Shier entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 4, 2012. Her funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL at 2:30 p.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.

Annie was born March 22, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Henry G. Steenken and Sophie Stelljes Steenken. She was a graduate of Murray Vocational High School and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons: Herbert J. Shier and Ronnie A. Shier (Holly) both of Charleston, SC and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Jeannette Shier; a son, Robert F. Shier, Jr.; a brother, John H. Steenken and a sister, Dorothy L. Steenken.
