She was born June 7, 1921, in Wrightsville, Georgia. In 1941, she married Marvin Sweat, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. They had three children, Marie, Luke, and Nancy. Following the early death of Mr. Sweat in 1948, she returned to Wrightsville, where she worked in a local clothing factory to support herself and her three children. In 1954, she met John Hugh Price at a dance at the American Legion in Wrightsville. Mr. Price, a widower who was originally from the nearby town of Pringle, Georgia, was residing in North Charleston, SC, with his son, Kenneth. Hugh and Annie married in 1955, with Annie managing the household while Hugh continued to work in the Charleston Naval Shipyard. In 1959, they had a son, John Price, Jr. They remained married until Mr. Price's death in 1989.
Miss Anne was known for her quick wit, her good sense of humor, and her generosity. She enjoyed being with family, and cooking for others. Her love of cooking for others was only exceeded by the love of those eating her meals, as she was the best cook in a family of great cooks.
Mrs. Price was pre-deceased by her oldest daughter, Marie Lee ( Harold) of Beaufort and is survived by three children, Luke Sweat ( Diane) of Warner-Robins, Georgia, Nancy Hughes ( Wallie) of North Charleston, and John Price (Dana) of Mt. Pleasant, and one step-son, Kenneth Price ( Dorothy) of North Charleston; grandchildren Bonnie Coxe, Billy Sweat, Kimberly Diggett, Jason Lee, Luke Sweat, Jr., Trey Price , and Calvin Price; step-grandchildren Kathy Wooldridge, Gene Katzenberger, and Ted Price; great-grandchildren Wesley Gambrell, Kayla Bouye, Mason Sweat, Harrison Lee, Genevieve Lee, and AnnaBelle Lee; step-great granchildren Thomas Katzenberger, Trista Mendez; step-great-great-grandchild Mathew Bedell. She was also pre-deceased by three brothers, Earl, Russell , and Norman Smith. She is survived by her younger brother, Bryson Smith, of Warner-Robins, Georgia.
