Annette Winifred Petit

Annette Winifred Petit, 68, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of, William Mark Petit, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 in James Island Baptist Church, 2023 Wappoo Drive at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel.

Annette was born July 8, 1957 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Harmon Elmore Dunlap and Margaret Doar Dunlap. A Charleston native, Annette was proud to raise her children and grandchildren in the city she loved, personifying love and care in everything she did. Professionally, Annette retired from Roper Hospital after many years in the Emergency Department, working as a Medical Registrar.

In addition to her husband of 48 years, Annette is survived by her two sons, Andrew William Petit, and Stephen Lee Petit, Sr.; grandson, Stephen Lee Petit, Jr.; sister, Beverly Gail Petit, sister-in-law, Dorothy Robin Cotrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harmon E Dunlap, Jr., Arnold W Dunlap, Earl R Dunlap, Sr.; along with brother-in-law, David Matthew Petit, Sr.
