Anne Graham Raynes, 89, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, wife of 45 years of the late George Horner Raynes died Sunday, May 28, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 1:00 pm until time of the service.
Anne was born August 21, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Garrett R. Graham and the late Lillian Gertrude Black Graham. She attended Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, North Carolina. She worked for the North Carolina National Bank, now known as Bank of America for 25 years and retired as an officer of the bank. She was an honorary member of The Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg, North Carolina and a Paul Harris Fellow. Anne was an avid reader, enjoyed travel and shag dancing. She was a member of Davidson United Methodist Church in Davidson, NC.
She is survived by daughter, Karen Raynes Allen of Mount Pleasant, SC; two sons, Mel T. Raynes (Dorothy) of Lawrence, KS and Mark Raynes (Sandie) of Boiling Springs, SC; two sisters, Beverly Saunders (Rev. John Saunders) of Mooresville, NC and Norma Lis of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Rebecca Buffington, Carolyn Raynes, Anne-Taylor Allen, Brittany Sharp, Drew Larger, Parker Raynes and George Andrew Raynes; one great grandchild, Brady Sharp. She was preceded in death by son, Drew Raynes; two brothers, Randall Graham and Mel Graham; and son-in-law Charles Roger Allen.
