Anne Hall Horne

Anne Hall Horne, 68, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of R. P. "Dick" Horne, Sr. died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home with her family at her side.
Anne was born on March 3, 1944, in Abbeville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Luther A. Hall and the late Madelle Simpson Aull Hall. At the age of three, she began to enjoy ballet dancing and singing, the talents of which carried her well into adulthood when she frequently tapped and danced on stage in Downtown Charleston with Steppin' Time raising money for the American Cancer Association. Of the many beauty pageants she entered, her more notable achievements were in The Aiken County Beauty Pageant of 1961 and the American Beauty Congress and the International Beauty Congress pageant of 1963 held in Long Beach, California.
On May 7, 1966, Anne married Dick Horne in Aiken, South Carolina. As a loving, supportive wife and mother, she counted her greatest successes in life to be those of her family to whom she was sacrificially committed in love. Her love was rooted in a relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to Whom she committed her life, as she so selflessly enjoyed and endured it unto His glory.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 47 years, Richard Porcher "Dick" Horne, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one son, Richard Porcher Horne, Jr. and his wife, Carrie of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Sandra Horne Cheves and her husband, Hank, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Catherine Anne Horne of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six grandchildren, Middleton Horne Cheves, Charles Pinckney Cheves, Olivia Porcher Horne, Langdon Hall Cheves, SarahAnne Sullivan Horne and Laura Elizabeth Horne.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Seacoast Christian Community Church, 750 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant, SC at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 14, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
