Anne was born December 13, 1958 in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of Maureen Bell Kennedy and the late William Kennedy, M.D. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree. Anne was an athlete. Early in life Anne excelled in all sports. She was always competitive. She played basketball, track, softball, swam and was a lifeguard. After marrying her husband, Michael, they enjoyed the outdoors through boating, camping, hunting, fishing and she was a very competitive tennis player. Anyone that knew Anne was keenly aware that she was a committed supporter of University of South Carolina Gamecock athletics, particularly baseball and football. She rarely missed a game and was proud to have touched the game ball prior to the opening of one of the Outback football bowl wins and followed the baseball team to Omaha for the back to back win.
Anne, a Christian, loved serving the Tea Room every year at Second Presbyterian Church where she was a member. She was respected and dearly loved by her friends and family because she was outspoken, gave freely of her time and was always willing to offer her opinion, help and sound advice.
Anne was passionate about genealogy. She was the registrar for the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society of Colonial Wars, National Society of the United States Daughters of Eighteen Twelve, Founding Families of the State of South Carolina, Daughters of the Cincinnati, The Colonial Dames of America and The National Society of the Colonial Dames XVII Century.
