Anne Johnson Allison, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Colonel John Slaton Allison died Monday, June 30, 2014.
Her graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m until 6:00 p.m. at Stuhr's Downtown Chapel. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Anne was born July 30, 1924 in Charleston, SC, daughter of Eugene Gaillard Johnson and Margaret Mitchell Johnson. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She knew no strangers and delighted in her large family. She was a second mom to many of her sons' friends. In addition to her family her passion was her many gardens that she created over the years. She will be dearly missed. She was a member of St. Philip's Church and attended First (Scots) Presbyterian with her late husband John.
She is survived by three sons, Gerard S. Stelling, Jr. (Grace), James M. Stelling (Kathy) both of Mount Pleasant, Robert M. Stelling (Sallie) of Kiawah Island; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth S. Allen (Greg), Margaret S. Britt (Toby), Kathleen S. Hodgson (Mac), Barbara D. Stelling, Robert M. Stelling, Jr., Scott W. Stelling (Janie), Anne Magill S. Payne (Brad); and six great-grandchildren, soon to be seven. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Angelia Johnson (Angie) for her loving, care-giving support and truly consider her as a family member.
