Anna Margaret Salley Crosby, 96, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Col. Ralph Dozier Crosby, (USA Ret.) died Friday, July 4, 2014. The relatives and friends of Anna Margaret Crosby are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the First Baptist Church of Charleston, 48 Meeting Street at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Salley Oakview Cemetery, 3071 Salley Road, Salley, SC at 3:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at her residence at Franke at Seaside, 1920 Heidelberg Drive, Mount Pleasant on Monday, July 7, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Anna Margaret was born April 23, 1918 in Salley, South Carolina, daughter of Henry Hampton Salley and Caroline Gleaton Salley. Graduating as salutatorian of Springfield High School, she was Miss Estill 1941. Anna Margaret was a loving officer's wife of over 60 years, caring for her family during her husband's service in World War II and many locations around the world. She was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose special gift was devotion to her immediate family of 39 members. She enjoyed bridge, Mah Jongg, bowling, and entertaining her close circle of friends. Anna Margaret was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sandhurst Garden Club and the Citadel Active and Retired Wives Club.

She is survived by her daughter; Patricia Crosby Helwig and her husband, Griffin, of Jacksonville, FL; and sons, Ralph Dozier Crosby, Jr. and his wife, Mary Grace, of McLean, VA, Robert Henry Crosby and his wife, Cherie, of Chapin, SC, David Michael Crosby and his wife, Missy, of Isle Of Palms, SC, Peter Anthony Crosby and his wife, Jennifer, of Marietta, GA, and Major General William Timothy Crosby (USA. Ret.) and his wife, Janice of Huntsville, AL; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, daughter, Carol, her sisters, Adys Salley, Nell Salley and Melba Miller, her brother, Harry Salley, and her grandson, Benjamin Crosby.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Charleston, 48 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
