Anna Clontz Crawford, 73, of Mount Pleasant, SC, beloved wife of 55 years of Edward E. Crawford, entered into eternal rest Friday, February 26, 2016, at her home. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in Grace Church Cathedral, 98 Wentworth Street, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Tuesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Anna was born August 30, 1942 in Rock Hill, SC, and raised in Augusta, GA. She was the daughter of the late John Maxwell Clontz and the late Ester Hilton Clontz. After graduating from Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA, she attended the University of Georgia and continued her education at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Charleston had been her home since 1989.

Anna was very active in her community. She co-chaired the antique booth at the Devon Horse Show for many years, was active in the Junior Leagues of Augusta and Philadelphia, co-chaired the Philadelphia Orchestra's Radio Marathon, and served as a board member of the Gibbes Museum of Art. Friends and family remember her generous spirit, sharp sense of humor and intense love of life. A warrior when it came to fighting pain, she lived with courage and taught those around her to love life and laugh.
