Ann Marie Shafer Von Tersch, 62, of Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2025, with her husband by her side. She was a dedicated mortgage processor at Peoples Bank Mortgage in Charleston for over ten years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dean C. Von Tersch; her children, Tristine Horner (Luke), Lee Schmidt, and Seth Schmidt (Emily); her father, Lowell Shafer; her sister, Amy Tessmann; her brother, Todd Shafer; and her stepchildren, Paul Von Tersch (Laurel) and Ashley Lawver (Kyle). She was a proud grandmother to Evan, Emmett, Ethan, Easton, Samuel, Conner, Beau, Caleb, Zoey, and Logan. Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Donna.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Coastal Community Church, 460 Arlington Dr., Charleston, SC 29414, on February 1, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., where friends may meet the family. A visitation will follow from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., offering family and friends the opportunity to share memories and celebrate her life.
