Ann Irene Glover Morris, 78, of Walterboro, South Carolina, wife of Hurel Austin "Sonny" Morris entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Mt. Pleasant Chapel, at 3:00PM where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be immediately following in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mt. Pleasant Chapel.
Ann was born July 27, 1945 in Rochester, New York, daughter of the late Chester Glover and the late Anna Grover Glover. She was a retired Day Care Provider. She was lovingly known as "Mema /Memaw" by her grandchildren/great-grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews. She was so loved by the children she cared for they also called her Mema. In fact, everyone called her Mema! Her playful demeanor and spirited personality will be greatly missed, as well as her awesome dock parties on Horsehoe Creek! Most lovingly of all, her husband of 40 years, Sonny, always said she was the love of his life and his soulmate.
She is survived by her husband Hurel Austin "Sonny" Morris; son, James "Jimmy" Martin (Annie) of Manning, SC; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Martin (David) Gaskin of St. Marys, GA; step-son, Danny Morris (Penny) of Charleston, SC; step-daughter, Mary Cecile "Pebs" (Elisa Luthiger) Morris of CA; two sisters, Bonnie Barfield (Robert) of Charleston, SC, Margaret Riccio (Danny) of Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren, Melissa Welden, David "Chase" Gaskin, Austin Gaskin, James Martin, Jr., Krystina Sharpe, Jonathan Martin, Patrick Martin, Trevor Martin, Travis Martin, Dustin Martin, two step grandchildren; Bryce Morris, and Wyatt Morris; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Ava Davenport, Caleb Gaskin, Daniel Gaskin, George Welden, Emma Martin, Austin Martin, Mason Martin, Abbygail Martin, Samuel Martin, Travis Alan, Jr., Hudson Martin, Connor Martin, and Dylan Lewis.
She was preceded in death by son, Christopher Martin, step-son, Ricky Morris, sister, Sharon Rowland, nephew Nicholas Riccio, and her parents.
Ann suffered from the debilitating condition of dementia, and donations to causes in finding a cure would greatly be appreciated, but please, donate any memorials to the foundation or charity of your choice.
