Ann Marie Milner, 99, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Douglas F. Milner entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 28, 2024. A private service was held at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Ann was born December 31, 1924 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Frank Corso and Anna Charido Corso. The eldest of four children, Ann helped care for her siblings as if they were her own. At 18, she married the handsome Doug Milner just so he would stop pursuing her on that street car. While working for Sylvania Corporation, and raising two daughters, Ann was proud of the fact that she went back to school to receive her diploma. She and Doug traveled, and entertained extended family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and socializing with her friends. When Ann turned 80, she picked up painting without any formal training. She will be remembered for her determination, her beauty and her joie de vivre.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Elwood; grandchildren, Carrie Elwood, Craig Elwood; great grandchildren, John Elwood, Zachary Elwood, Winston Bostic; nieces and nephews, Roy Olziewski, Stanley Janiak, Rose Marie DeMarco and Judy Flynn. In addition to her late husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Milner.
