Angelena "Mike" Mitchell Shores

Angelena "Mike" Mitchell Shores, 97, of Hollywood, South Carolina, widow of Gance "Tommy" Irvin Shores died Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd. at 10:30 a.m. Entombment, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Angelena was born December 22, 1919 in Coinjock, North Carolina, daughter of the late Michael Mitchell and the late Buelah Acklen Mitchell. She was a housewife and mother and lived on the Isle of Palms for 43 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, Ronald L. Shores and wife Sandra; daughter-in-law Lori Shores; Mike Hosch and wife, Annie; grandchildren, April Shores, Jennifer Champlin and husband, Daniel; David Shores; Nathan Shores and his wife Anne-Marie, and Anna Kate Shores; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Matthew Champlin; Tyler, Trevor and Ava Shores, Joseph and Patrick Shores; as well as seven nieces: Donna, Chris, Beth, Teri, Gina, Kim and Julie.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Christina Hosch, Catherine Simmons, and Amanda Owens; her brother, Fred McCarthy; and her son, Donald L. Shores.
