Andrew William Nelson Andrew William Nelson, 92, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Phyllis Mary Nelson entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 18, 2019. His funeral service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019, 6:00 p.m. at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 in Beaufort National Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.Andrew was born August 31, 1926 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, son of Andrew William Nelson, II and Lillian Miles Nelson. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. For 22 years, he was the Director of Communications over 14 Department of Motor Vehicles offices. He is survived by wife, Phyllis Mary Nelson; his son, Michael John (Valerie) Tracy; five daughters, Pamela Aris (James), Julia Ann Tracy, Barbara Nelson, Laurie Nelson, Cheryl Floyd (Edward); two granddaughters, Sarah Tracy, Nikayla Pollard; four grandsons, Theo Aris, Andy Aris, Justin Tracy, and Christopher Sherman.
