Andrew Caleb Quinn Macneil

September 2, 1996 — July 13, 2010

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of July 13, 2010, Andrew "Andy" Caleb Quinn MacNeil, son of Irene Rowe MacNeil of Charleston, South Carolina.  Andy's father is Jonathan Scott MacNeil of Ashville, North Carolina.   Andy was born on September 2, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He finished 7th grade in St. Andrews Middle School and was a rising 8th grader in Palmetto Scholars Academy.  He was voted the "Most Improved Player" on the St. Andrews Middle School football team, he had a passion for football and played on the line.  Andy was awarded 1st in District Primary Division in 2004 and 1st in State Middle School Division in 2010 for PTSA Reflections Competition in Photography.  He loved to make his Mom laugh and had a sense of humor beyond his years.  Andy enjoyed experimenting with food and loved rock climbing, Frisbee and photography. 


Surviving are his mother of Charleston; his father of Ashville, NC; older sister, Kathleen "Katie" MacNeil of Charleston; six older half-siblings, Tim, Chris, Luke, Liz, Grace, and Jeremy; and his maternal grandmother, Patricia Rowe of Charleston.


The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Friday afternoon from five until seven o'clock.  Funeral services will be held at Church of the Holy Communion, Saturday, July 17, 2010, at three o'clock.  Burial will follow immediately in Holy Cross Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teen Suicide Research and Prevention, M.U.S.C., 18 Bee Street, Charleston, SC  29425.
