Amy Elizabeth Nason, 78, Mt. Pleasant , South Carolina, formerly of Union Hall, Virginia, wife of the late CPT. Gilbert L. Nason (USMC, Ret) died Saturday, November 11, 2017. Her memorial service will be held Friday, November 24, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Friday from 12:00 pm until time of the service.
Amy was born June 2, 1939 in River Rouge, Michigan, daughter of the late Doris Balcom. She graduated from Ecorse High School where she was on the synchronized swimming team. Formerly married to John W. Prine, Amy worked as an independent licensed insurance agent in the health care field providing affordable Medicare supplement policies. She was a member of MENSA, Toastmasters, and an active member of Faith Fellowship in Wirtz, Virginia. One of the most important aspects of her life was her faith in the Lord. She loved sailing, traveling, was an avid reader, and was health conscious before it was "en vogue".
She is survived by her children, Susan Isaac (Jimmy), John W. Prine, Jr. and David G. Prine (Jenny) all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, close cousins, Barb and Beverly; and step-children, Kevin Nason (Vicki), Mai Lynn Peters (Dan), and Corey Nason (Joan); seven step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Jeremy S. Prine (Heather) and her cousin, Bill.
