Amelia Zander Goodwin, 71, of North Augusta, entered into rest May 7, 2022. Her funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Thursday in the Downtown Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Amelia was born October 10, 1950 in Charleston, SC to the late Frank Theodore Zander, Sr. and Allernease Robertson Zander. After graduation from Johns Island High School in 1969, she went on to study education at Lander University and received a Master’s degree in Education Administration from The Citadel. Amelia served in the Charleston County School System for 35 years molding the lives of many young students. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Johns Island and Crossroads Fellowship Church of Augusta.
Amelia is survived by her son, Capt. Timothy M. Goodwin, Jr. (Retired Charleston Fire Department); two daughters: Heather G. Bollinger (David) and Miranda R. Zander; eight grandchildren: Christopher Seay, Matthew Seay, Frank G. Zander, Katherine Goodwin, Alan Anderson, Micah Rhoades, Zander Goodwin, and Michael Goodwin; two great-grandchildren: Dylan Seay and Donna Seay; three sisters: Julia C. Zander, Mary A. Zander, and Peggy Zander, two nieces Crystal and Alexis Zander.
Amelia was predeceased by two brothers: Frank Theodore Zander, Jr. and Frank Allen Zander.
