Amelia Doerr Preston

Amelia Doerr Preston, 93, wife of the late Richard Earl Preston, Sr., passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010.  The relatives and friends of Amelia Preston are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside on Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Saturday in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL immediately following the service. Mrs. Preston was born November 20, 1916 in Bowdle, South Dakota.  She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a homemaker.  She loved to spend time with her family and friends.  She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine L. Preston of Huntington, NY; sister, Althea Kambestad of Sacramento, CA; a brother, Arnold Doerr of Bowdle, SD; and a granddaughter, Laurie Stalter of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Earl Preston, Jr. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC  29406 or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 604 Pitt Street, Mt. Pleasant, SC  29464.
