My name is Amelia Louise ("Molly") Pratt. I was born at Old Roper in Charleston, December 5, 1945, daughter of Eunice Hare Johnston and Dr. Edward Wallace Pratt. I graduated from The High School of Charleston, in 63, went to CofC '63, Palmer College '64, and decided I was gonna be one of those glamorous legal secretaries (I mean they were in the "60s) for 50 years along with being a screaming liberal.
I had two older sisters: Maggie Swain Simons (wild woman) and Jo Swain Wright-Cawley (brain woman). I have had my wonderful husband Baird Mallory for the past 18 years (see you can get married in your 60s), and his beautiful daughter (Jennifer) and her loving guy Mark Dukes (Columbia). I have wonderful living blood cousins: Beverly (Indiana), Peggy (Columbia), Jimmy, Danielle, Davey, and Cantey Hare (Pinopolis & Charleston) and friends, but because I am so old I have a truckload of fabulous friends & relatives in the Big Sky.
I moved to San Francisco in 1972 for 20 years, returned to Charleston after Hugo, got a little house, and have entertained and traveled and loved and lost and won. I've taught aerobics in SF and Chas and been a Reading Partner 7 years. I have traveled to Greece, Italy, Israel, France, and Ireland. I love entertaining, cooking, reading, exercising at the St. Andrews Fitness Center, gardening, writing, and attending 8AM Sundays at Holy Communion for my sins.
I thank you Dr. Ricky Albenesius, Dr. Robert Ishak, Hollings Cancer Center MUSC, and Crescent Hospice, including Chrisine Puskar, Merritt Segar, Amanda Dunlap, Nicole Petrick, Tierra Grant and Brittinie Gleason.
In 80 years, I have only had 4 rotten, lousy years. That's why I simply don't feel sad about going to visit my old friends and relatives. It has been exciting, fun, laughable, cryable, enjoyable. Au revoir.
