Alyce Adams Quimby

Alyce Adams Quimby, 97, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Edward Elroy Quimby died Monday, October 22, 2018. Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 in First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive at 2:00 pm. The family will greet friends in the church Welcome Center after the service.

Alyce was born July 23, 1921 in Norwich, Vermont, daughter of the late Warren Jason Adams and the late Sarah Newton Adams. She worked in administration at Tufts College and The Citadel. Alyce volunteered at Meals on Wheels for 30 years and was a hospital volunteer at East Cooper Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist of Mount Pleasant where she sang in the choir and loved to square dance and round dance.

She is survived by daughter, Judi Quimby (Ronald Johnston) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Gary Quimby (Carol) of Las Vegas, NV; five Grandchildren, Pam Zenga of MA, David Johnston (Janice) of MA, John Johnston of MA, Stacey Bazzle (Louis) of SC and Stephanie Bennett (Scott) of OH; nine great grandchildren, Daniel and wife Danielle, Amanda, Nicholas, Kayla, Ryan, Evan, Lindsay, Riley and Teagan. She was preceded in death by her
husband and siblings, Lena Needham, Elinor McKella and George Adams.
